Job Description
Supervise daily piping and structural steel fabrication, renewal, repair, and installation activities at site.
Monitor piping fabrication, fit-up, welding, erection, supports, alignment, and installation.
Supervise welders and ensure welding activities are carried out in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and project requirements.
Coordinate and supervise repair and renewal works, ensuring correct dimensions, alignment, fit-up, welding, and installation.
Read, understand, and correctly interpret piping, isometric, fabrication, and repair drawings to ensure work is carried out accurately.
Ensure all work is performed according to approved method statements, ITPs, drawings, specifications, and work procedures.
Apply practical knowledge of pipes, piping materials, fittings, valves, supports, welding procedures, and fabrication processes.
Coordinate and supervise welders, pipe fitters, fabricators, and other site personnel.
Liaise directly with the client, class surveyors, inspectors, and subcontractors for inspection, approval, and completion of repair works.
Address and coordinate any technical or site issues arising during repair, renewal, fabrication, and installation activities.
Calculate the steel quantities and dimensions required for renewal and repair works, based on drawings and site measurements.
Maintain accurate records of completed work, inspections, repairs, renewals, and material usage.
Ensure all site activities comply with workplace safety, quality, and project requirements.
Candidate Requirements
- Relevant experience as a Pipe Supervisor, Steel Supervisor, Piping Supervisor, or similar position.
- Experience in the process, marine, shipyard, oil & gas, petrochemical, or related industries.
- Strong practical knowledge of piping, steel renewal, fabrication, welding, and repair works.
- Ability to read and correctly interpret technical and repair drawings.
- Ability to calculate steel quantities and dimensions required for renewal and repair works.
- Good knowledge of welding procedures and welding supervision.
- Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with clients, class surveyors, inspectors, and subcontractors.
- Basic written and spoken English is required.
- Good understanding of workplace safety and quality requirements.
- Ability to work independently, supervise site teams, and take responsibility for assigned repair and construction activities.
