Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join the outstanding Dulwich College (Singapore) Physical Education and Sports department. The Junior School is seeking an inspirational Physical Education and Sports Teacher for an August 2026 start. Strong candidates may have the opportunity to be considered for a Head of Department role.

The right candidate will be a highly committed, enthusiastic and adaptable colleague with the drive, energy and passion to maximise students growth in physical education, sports and healthy living within this forward-looking school. They will be keen to be part of a large team with a common purpose of creating stimulating and fun environments which enable sports and healthy lifestyles to be accessed by all students and inspire them to reach the highest standards.

Students come first is our guiding pillar. Ideal candidates will be internationally minded and excited to work with a culturally diverse range of colleagues and children. Applicants must be willing to lead by example and play a full part in the College's pastoral care and extra-curricular programme. The role would be suitable for all qualified teachers who will have completed their two-year UK ECT by July 2026 or have equivalent experience.

Junior School teachers have high expectations of themselves and learners. They are reflective and strive for continual improvement. They value knowing each child as an individual and create a safe space for learning. They believe in personalising learning and that all children have the right to make progress from their individual starting points teachers identify the needs of children and provide support and challenge as appropriate.

Our teachers understand the importance of a solid platform of core skills and content and see this as a springboard to teaching broader concepts, through an inquiry approach to learning. To support this, every student has access to a device. Our curriculum and timetable value a breadth of disciplines that includes traditionally academic subjects as well as STEM, sports and visual and performing arts. Teachers are supported to develop areas of expertise within this model.

The Junior School

Our Junior School caters for 880 enthusiastic learners aged between 7 and 11. Everything we do is underpinned by a culture of safety and wellbeing for all members of the community. We build upon the excellent foundations laid in DUCKS, and develop a depth of academic knowledge, as well as the life skills and mindset needed to prepare students for the best possible success in our Senior School. We want children to leave Year 6 as motivated, independent and collaborative learners.
