Overview
Perform technical duties under the supervision of pharmacists to ensure safe, efficient and timely distribution of drugs in AH.
Assist the pharmacist in-charge to provide supervision to pharmacy support staff and to coordinate activities within a section to ensure smooth workflow and continuous improvement.
Dispense medicines to the patients according to department policies and guidelines.
Job Responsibilities
1) Daily Operations
. Provide professional and courteous service to all patients/customers
. Process medication orders/prescriptions for both inpatient and outpatient
. Picking, packing and labelling in accordance with stipulated policies, guidelines and department standard operating procedures
. Perform billing functions
. Ensures work area is ready for daily operations
. Maintains the cleanliness of the pharmacy and ward areas where drugs are stored
. Involvement in workplace quality improvement projects/activities as and when required
2) Inventory Management
. Ensures stocks are stocked up properly and tidily according to First-Expiry-First-Out (FEFO) requirement and stipulated storage condition
. Performs topping up of omnicell ward stock in the respective wards
. Ensures correct receiving of goods
. Secondary repackaging/redressing
. Carry out cycle counts and stock takes periodically according to SOPs
3) Dispensing
. Dispensing of medications to patients in accordance with stipulated policies, guidelines and department standard operating procedures
Requirements
. Possess Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPTC) OR Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science
. Completed Basic Skill Test OR Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPTC)
. Have initiative and able to work independently to achieve goals of the department
. Able to communicate effectively
. Able to function effectively as member of a team
. Flexibility to work on weekends/ public holidays occasionally
