We are a Switzerland-based petrochemicals trading and distribution firm seeking anexperienced Petrochemical Trader to act as our principal representative in Singapore and the broader Asia-Pacific region.
Thecandidatewill be responsible for developing and expanding our petrochemical trading operations across Asia-Pacific, utilizing comprehensive market analysis, strategic transaction execution, and effective stakeholder relationship management to enhance profitability and achieve established trading objectives.
Responsibilities
- Establishand growour petrochemicaltrading activities, sourcing supply and selling to clients across global markets, with a focus on Asia-Pacific regions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, buyers, producers, and key stakeholders in the petrochemical supply chain.
- Analyze market data, price trends, supply-demand dynamics, and geopolitical factors impacting thepetrochemicalindustry to develop informed trading strategies.
- Structure and negotiate contracts, structure complex deals, manage risk, and oversee trade execution, including logistics and supply chain coordination.
- Monitor market trends,supply-demand dynamics, andregulatory changesin the petrochemicals sector, such assustainabilityinitiatives.
- Manage trade risks, including price volatility, currency fluctuations, and supply chain disruptions, in collaboration with internal risk and operations teams.
- Act as the primary point of contact for physical petrochemicals trading in Asia, representing the company in industry events, partnerships, and client engagements.
Qualifications and Experiences
- Bachelors degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
- Minimum5 yearsof experience in physicalcommoditytradingwithinpetrochemicals, withan existing portfolio of clients and commercial relationships.
- Deep understanding of the petrochemicals value chain, including production processes, global trade flows, logistics, and applications in sectors like plastics, chemicals, and renewable fuels.
- Proven ability to negotiate complex physical contracts, build client relationships, and achieve profitability in dynamic commodity markets.
- Entrepreneurial mindset witha strong network in the region.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Mandarin or other Asian languages is highly desirable.
