Job Description / Objective:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated PCB Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in PCB layout using Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics PADS, and Cadence Allegro, and a strong background in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) practices - including Design for Assembly (DFA), Fabrication (DFF), and Test (DFT) - using industry-standard DFM/DFT analysis software.
The candidate should also possess experience or interest in Value Analysis /Value Engineering (VAVE) to support cost reduction and product optimization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and manage schematic and PCB libraries. Perform schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics PADS, and Cadence Allegro, adhering to electrical, mechanical, and manufacturability constraints.
- Ensure design compliance with IPC standards and manufacturing guidelines.
- Conduct DFM/DFA/DFF/DFT checks using DFM/DFT software and work with manufacturing partners to resolve design issues.
- Collaborate with hardware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to optimize board design for performance and producibility.
- Drive VAVE (Value Analysis Value Engineering) activities for existing and new products to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising functionality or quality.
- Support the NPI (New Product Introduction) process, resolve engineering queries, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and manage documentation and revision control activities.
Requirements:
- Degree in Electronics Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 6-10 years of experience in PCB design.
- Proficient in Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics PADS, and Cadence Allegro.
- Solid understanding of DFM, DFA, DFF, and DFT principles.
- Hands-on experience with DFM analysis tools (e.g., Siemens PCB flow, Vayo, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with VAVE methodologies and cost-reduction strategies.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of high-speed design, impedance control, and multi-layer board stack-ups.
- Experience working in an EMS or OEM product development environment.
- Understanding of PCB fabrication and assembly processes
