Job Description

Core responsibilities

  • Payroll processing: Calculating wages, overtime, bonuses, and commissions, and processing them according to the company's pay cycle.
  • Data management: Gathering employee work data, updating records for new hires, and processing changes in salary or benefits.
  • Taxation and compliance: Calculating and deducting federal, state, and local taxes, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Reporting: Preparing and submitting payroll reports, including year-end tax forms like IR8A, and generating payroll statistics for management.
  • Auditing and reconciliation: Conducting audits of payroll information to ensure accuracy and reconciling payroll accounts to identify discrepancies.

Supporting duties

  • Employee support: Responding to employee questions and resolving issues related to wages, deductions, and overtime.
  • Benefits administration: Managing employee benefits and deductions, such as insurance or retirement contributions.
  • Collaboration: Working with other departments, particularly human resources and finance, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Stay current: Keeping up-to-date with changes in payroll laws, tax regulations, and payroll software.
