Job Summary

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations across 10 countries. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing while managing regional payroll vendors, ensuring compliance with local tax and labour regulations, and driving process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for multiple countries, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local laws.
  • Ensure adherence to tax regulations, statutory contributions, social security requirements, and labour laws in each country.
  • Partner with local payroll vendors and internal HR/Finance teams to ensure seamless payroll execution.
  • Handle multi-currency payroll processing and manage exchange rate fluctuations.
  • Ensure payroll reconciliation, reporting, and audits are completed accurately and on time.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage third-party payroll vendors and evaluate service levels to ensure efficient payroll operations.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Tax teams to align payroll processes with company policies.
  • Serve as the key point of contact for payroll escalations, issue resolution, and compliance updates.

Process Improvement & System Optimization

  • Identify and implement payroll process automation and efficiency improvements.
  • Optimize payroll systems (e.g., Workday, Deel) for scalability and compliance.
  • Utilize Advanced Excel skills (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUP, Macros) for data analysis, reporting, and reconciliation.
  • Ensure payroll records are accurately maintained and aligned with audit requirements.

Reporting & Compliance Audits

  • Ensure payroll tax filings, year-end reporting, and statutory declarations are completed on time.
  • Support internal and external audits, providing required payroll data and documentation.
  • Maintain data integrity and compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, PDPA, CCPA).

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, HR, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of payroll experience, with at least 5 years in a regional or multi-country role.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and statutory compliance across multiple countries.
  • Experience managing payroll vendors and outsourced payroll services.
  • Proficiency in payroll and HR systems (e.g., Workday, Deel ).
  • Advanced Excel skills for payroll analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage confidential data.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to collaborate across teams and time zones.
  • Ability to analyse payroll data, identify discrepancies, and drive continuous improvements.
  • Strong communication skills in English; additional language proficiency for supported countries is a plus.
