The Position
We are seeking a Payroll Implementation Country Lead - APAC to join the Implementation team. This role will play a key part in delivering successful payroll implementations for global clients and ensuring a smooth transition into ongoing payroll operations.
You will act as the subject matter expert for your country or region and lead end-to-end payroll implementation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the payroll subject matter expert for the specified country/region.
- Support the Sales team by attending client calls as the Country Payroll Lead.
- Participate in sales handovers, client handovers, and project kick-off meetings.
- Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of global payroll implementation projects.
- Manage implementations from inception through parallel runs to first live payroll, before handing over to Payroll Operations.
- Ensure all key decisions and processes are documented and visible to Payroll Operations, including SOPs for BAU activity.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans and timelines.
- Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders across internal teams and customers.
- Develop and implement standardised payroll processes and procedures.
- Provide ongoing support during and after implementation to resolve challenges.
- Support the wider Implementation and Operations teams.
- Monitor and deliver against KPIs and SLAs.
- Mentor and support Payroll Generalists working alongside you.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve the payroll platform, including UAT testing and documentation of changes.
Requirements
- Extensive payroll experience within a client payroll environment.
- Strong legislative payroll knowledge across the APAC region (ideally Australia or Singapore).
- Payroll implementation experience (ideally Australia or Singapore).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain payroll processes to customers and stakeholders.
- Experience using local payroll systems and tools such as SAP, Excel, or Google Sheets.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international environment.
- Experience with accounting and reconciliations.
- A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on productivity and efficiency.
- Comfortable working in a largely asynchronous environment.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Experience working remotely is beneficial but not essential.
