Job Summary
The Patient Service Assistant provides frontline support to ensure smooth daily clinic operations and a positive patient experience. The role involves assisting with patient registration, appointment coordination, administrative tasks, and basic clinical support while acting as a key link between patients, healthcare providers, and administrative teams.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Support & Customer Service
- Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
- Assist patients with registration, check-in, and check-out procedures
- Address patient inquiries, concerns, and complaints respectfully
- Guide patients through clinic or hospital services and processes
Administrative & Clerical Duties
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
- Handle phone calls, emails, and front-desk communications
- Assist with billing, payments, and insurance/ TPA claims submission and approval
Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and clinic staff to manage patient flow
- Inform patients about waiting times, procedures, and follow-up appointments
- Support patient referrals and documentation processing
Monthly Stock Inventory
- Perform full stock inventory once every month
- Check expiry dates and storage conditions
- Report any shortage or discrepancies so corrective actions can be taken
Compliance & Safety
- Dispense medication as prescribed by the Doctors
- Ensure patient confidentiality and data protection at all times
- Follow clinic policies, safety standards, and service protocols
- Maintain a clean and organized reception and waiting area
Patient Care & Assistance
- Greet and guide patients through clinic procedures
- Assist doctors during consultations and examination
- Prepare patients for eye examinations and treatments
- Ensure patient comfort and safety at all times
- Maintain cleanliness, safety and infection control standard
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (healthcare administration training is an advantage)
- Previous experience in customer service or healthcare preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer and data entry skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
