Patient Service Associate

To perform caregiving duties, do ward operational and admin tasks and provide service management to patients within a healthcare environment in collaboration with care teams based on person-centred care.

1 . Provide general management of patient bedside and ward environment that is clean and safe for patients.

2. Adhere to Infection Control Standards which include:

. 5 moments of hand hygiene

. Proper use and disposal of personal protective equipment

. Proper disposal of waste

3. Attend to patients calls and relay patients requests to the nurse in-charge as appropriate.

4. Report any adverse condition of patients to the nurse in-charge.

5. Use various system applications to ensure smooth patient care and operations

6. Demonstrate good interpersonal skills towards patients, staff and public.

7. Provide patient education such as fall prevention, smoking cessation and infection control practices.

8. Oversee 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise, Sustain) management in partnership with the nurses in the assigned ward.

9. Exercise care and prudence in the use of equipment and supplies.

10. Orientate / precept new Patient Care Officers (PCOs) to the ward / unit.

11. Embrace continuous improvement as our way of life by improving and refining work performance on a daily basis.

12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ward / department kaizen projects.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

- Preferably a diploma in any discipline

- Minimum Higher NITEC with more than 8 years work experience

- To have a mature and positive attitude, initiative and eagerness to learn

- Able to communicate effectively and confidently

- Able to perform 2-3 rotating shifts, weekends / public holidays
