Patent Attorney

We have two new roles within the IP team. The role will work closely with Research, Design and Development (RDD), and will be responsible for managing IP risks and opportunities, and for delivering strategic value and legal advice. The role will be heavily involved in supporting exciting new technologies and products, from conception to production, across a wide range of categories, such as Audio, Floorcare, Haircare, Robotics and Digital Motors. The work is stimulating and challenging and the environment is characterised by energy, enthusiasm and initiative.

Advising the business on a wide range of IP issues, your key responsibilities will include:

• Identifying and managing IP risks and opportunities associated with new products and technologies.
• Advising the business on potential IP risks through freedom-to-operate work, and challenging the validity of third party rights.
• Engaging with outside counsel to support patent drafting activities.
• Prosecuting patent applications globally, to deliver strategically relevant patents in a cost-effective manner.
• Reviewing competitor products and supporting the Litigation team with IP disputes and litigation matters.

About you

You will be a qualified attorney (Singapore, UK, Europe, Australia or New Zealand). Ideally, you'll have experience working with mechanical and/or electrical inventions.However, we welcome applications from all candidates irrespective of background.You'll be collaborative, with the ability to communicate IP matters to non-IP people in a clear and concise manner.You'll also be proactive, demonstrating willingness to own and develop areas of responsibility and be able to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.
