Your Day to Day

Pastry Preparation & Production

  • Assist in preparing and baking basic pastry items including cakes, tarts, breads, simple desserts, and buffet items according to hotel recipes and instructions.

  • Support daily pastry production for buffet service, la carte outlets, meetings & events, room service, and special events.

  • Accurately measure and prepare ingredients under supervision to ensure consistency and quality.

Finishing & Presentation

  • Assist with basic finishing tasks such as piping, glazing, cutting, garnishing, and plating of desserts.

  • Ensure pastry items are presented neatly and consistently according to hotel standards.

Quality & Freshness

  • Ensure all pastry products are prepared fresh and delivered on time for service.

  • Follow instructions closely to maintain correct taste, texture, and appearance of products.

  • Report any issues related to product quality or ingredients to the supervising chef.

Hygiene, Safety & Kitchen Cleanliness

  • Maintain cleanliness of pastry workstations, equipment, utensils, and storage areas at all times.

  • Assist in cleaning ovens, mixers, and other pastry equipment after use.

  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, HACCP, and workplace safety procedures as per hotel policies.

Stock Handling & Storage

  • Assist in checking and receiving pastry ingredients.

  • Store ingredients and finished products properly, following FEFO and food safety guidelines.

  • Help minimize food wastage through careful handling and portioning.

Team Support & Learning

  • Work closely with senior pastry chefs to support smooth daily operations.

  • Follow instructions from Pastry Chef and Sous Chef accurately and promptly.

  • Participate in on-the-job training and continuously improve pastry skills and knowledge.

  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the Pastry Chef or Outlet Chef.

Requirements & Skills

  • Basic culinary or pastry training preferred (certificate or diploma is an advantage).

  • Prior kitchen or hotel experience is an advantage but not mandatory.

  • Willingness to learn pastry techniques and work in a fast‑paced hotel environment.

  • Good hygiene standards and attention to detail.

  • Able to work early shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

  • Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
