Ang Mo Kio Methodist Church (TRAC) is seeking a Pastoral Team Member to serve in the Worship and Music Ministry. This role will provide spiritual and musical leadership, fostering meaningful worship experiences for our intergenerational congregation. Our services adopt a common worship order, drawing on both the richness of historical liturgical worship as well as the spontaneity and vibrancy of Spirit-led worship.
Key Responsibilities
Worship & Music
. Provides musical guidance, spiritual encouragement, and administrative coordination to ensure the worship and music ministry maintain a high standard of excellence.
. Assist to develop the worship team by recruiting, training and providing both musical coaching and spiritual support.
. Coordinate and prepare the team for services by scheduling members, conducting regular rehearsals and ensuring overall readiness.
. Plan, support and carry out Worship and Music programs and activities together with the ministry head, ministry committee and the Pastor's Office.
Choir
. Responsible for overseeing and leading the church choir, including planning music selections, coordinating rehearsals, and performances during services and special events
. Develop the choir team by recruiting, training and providing both musical coaching and spiritual support.
Operations and Administration
. Plan and execute Sunday and special worship services (e.g. Good Friday and Christmas) in collaboration with the Pastors Office.
. Assist with services operational aspects such as team briefings, visual presentations and the review and follow-up of feedback.
. Ensure proper care and maintenance of musical instruments and equipment.
. Perform administrative, logistical, and technical duties, including processing payment vouchers, maintaining Church Services team rosters, handling procurement and preparing or reviewing ministry reports and budget requests.
Pastoral Care
. Provide pastoral care to church members through shut-in, hospital, and wake visits.
. Offer prayer, presence, and appropriate follow-up during times of illness, bereavement, and crisis.
. Conduct wake services.
Requirements
- A committed Christian with a heart for worship and church ministry.
- Formal training or proven experience in music (degree or equivalent preferred).
- Experience in conducting choirs in church or other related organisation.
- Willingness to serve on Sundays and outside regular office hours, with time off in lieu.
- A team player who is able to work collaboratively with church staff, ministry leaders, members and the Supervising Pastor.
- Teachable, open to feedback, and committed to personal and ministerial growth.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor degree in Music, Church Music, Worship Studies, or a related field.
- Competence in choral conducting and vocal training.
