Job Description

We are looking for a part-time lecturer to teach this undergraduate course at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information. The course will examine how politics, ideology, international relations, and nationalism have shaped the film festivals around the globe, and to what extent film festivals have influenced global film cultures over the past decades.

The lecturer should have strong industry experience and knowledge of the course topics. The course format consists of a total of 52 hours of instruction that includes lectures, in-class activities and seminar discussions. The lecturer will be responsible for syllabus planning, class preparation, marking for assessment and student consultations.

Requirements:

  • Master's or bachelor's degree in film studies, Media Studies, Cinema Studies, or a related humanities field.
  • A deep understanding of film theory, world cinema, and, specifically,film festival studiesas a discipline.
  • Expertise in the history of major international film festivals
  • Practical experience in the film festival industry.
