Part-Time Lecturer for AP6402 Art-Tech Collaboration

The School of Art, Design and Media (ADM) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, invites qualified candidates to apply as Part-time Lecturer for AP6402 Art-Tech Collaboration. The Part-time Lecturer is expected to teach a Postgraduate course commencing in August 2026.

AP6402 Art-Tech Collaboration is a 13-week course focusing on developing cross-discipline interaction to reap the benefits of combining art and technology in the creative process of developing a game concept. Students will explore team-based skills and strengths to create a convincing game concept pitch, including a demonstration portion of gameplay. This course reflects critical industry standards for both independent and large-scale developers, establishing a foundation for professional research, ideation, and technological investigation.

Applicants to this position will be able to demonstrate expertise in bridging the gap between artistic vision and technical implementation. This includes overseeing the integration of art assets into game engines, managing technical constraints without sacrificing aesthetic quality, and guiding teams through the development of gameplay demonstrations. Applicants will be able to demonstrate passion in mentoring students in Technical Art or Creative Production workflows, ensuring that research, ideation, and technological investigation result in a cohesive, functional game concept pitch.

Candidates should have a relevant Master's and/or PhD in Technical Art, Game Development, Interactive

Media, or a related field with a track record of creative practice in roles that require high-level Art-Tech synthesis. Past teaching experience at the Undergraduate Level is preferred. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in a related field and sufficient and relevant industry experience (such as Technical Artist, Art Lead, or Creative Producer) may also be considered in exceptional cases.
