Position Overview:
The Part-Time Co-Assessor will assist the Trainer in facilitating assessment sessions and conducting assessments. The Co-Assessor will help ensure the efficient execution of assessments while maintaining the integrity of the assessment process. The Co-Assessor will also be required to perform oral recovery sessions when necessary, document assessments appropriately, and ensure compliance with FirstCom Academy's guidelines. A key part of this role is ensuring fairness, transparency, and the accurate documentation of learner assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Assessment Sessions:
- Assist the Trainer in managing and facilitating assessments, ensuring learners understand the assessment process and requirements.
- Handle logistical duties during assessment sessions, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
- Provide learners with guidance on assessment procedures, time management, and expectations.
- Assist Trainer in Conducting Assessments:
- Support the Trainer during assessments by observing learners, monitoring progress, and providing assistance with any procedural questions or technical issues.
- Help assess learners based on established competency standards, ensuring a fair and unbiased assessment process.
- Conduct Oral Recovery Sessions:
- Carry out oral recovery sessions when required, asking leading questions to help learners clarify or elaborate on their responses.
- Document both the original and final answers provided by the learner during oral recovery.
- Ensure recovery sessions are conducted professionally and in accordance with FirstCom Academy's standards.
- Ensure Proper Documentation:
- Complete all necessary assessment documentation, including oral recovery records and Assessment Summary Records (ASR).
- Ensure that all assessment-related paperwork is accurate, stored securely, and processed in line with FirstCom Academy's confidentiality and record-keeping policies.
- Maintain Assessment Integrity:
- Adhere strictly to FirstCom Academy's assessment guidelines to ensure all assessments are fair, transparent, and conducted with integrity.
- Monitor and report any suspected breaches of assessment integrity, including misconduct or unethical behavior.
- Ensure oral recovery sessions are performed ethically, without providing answers to learners, and documented accurately.
Requirements:
- ACLP (Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance) or ACTA (Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment) certification is mandatory.
- Previous experience in assessment, teaching, or training, particularly within a WSQ (Workforce Skills Qualifications) framework, is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with learners in a professional and supportive manner.
- Ability to maintain focus, manage time effectively, and pay attention to detail during assessment sessions.
- Team player who can assist the Trainer and contribute to the overall success of the assessment process.
