PART-TIME ART SPECIALIST - MANDARIN SPEAKING

Lil Palette is looking for a part-time Art Educator to join our teaching team.

We are a process-led children's art studio working with young artists across different ages and abilities. Our curriculum introduces children to artists, art history, techniques and a wide range of media, while giving them room to develop their own ideas and visual language.

We are looking for someone who is formally trained in art and confident teaching in Mandarin (effectively bilingual a plus), and who can learn and deliver our existing curriculum with thoughtfulness, warmth and a strong understanding of artistic process.

You might be a good fit if you:

. Have a Diploma or Degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, Design, Illustration or a related field
. Have a strong foundation in drawing, painting, colour, composition and mixed media
. Are fluent or highly proficient in Mandarin and able to conduct an art class naturally in Mandarin
. Enjoy working with children and can communicate ideas clearly without over-directing their work
. Are comfortable teaching from an established curriculum while adapting your approach to the individual child
. Are observant, patient and able to guide children through challenges in their artistic process
. Have prior teaching experience with children - preferred, though we are open to strong artists with the right temperament and willingness to learn
. Are reliable and able to commit to a regular weekly teaching schedule

About the role

This is a part-time teaching position, with the possibility of taking on regular weekly classes.

Teachers will be trained in Lil Palette's curriculum and teaching approach. We are especially interested in someone who could eventually take ownership of our Mandarin-led art classes/programmes while maintaining the same curriculum standards and philosophy as the rest of the studio.
