We are partnering with an established international shipping company to identify a capable and hands-on Owner's Representative with tanker experience to be based in the Singapore office.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse technical issues related to machinery failures and recommend long-term corrective solutions to enhance reliability across the fleet.
- Review and address operational matters related to EGCS systems.
- Conduct maintenance audits onboard vessels twice annually.
- Evaluate and approve procurement of high-value spare parts and specialist services for assigned vessels.
- Monitor and assess vessel performance through technical reports, lubricant analysis, bunker consumption, speed, and efficiency data.
- Identify potential issues early and propose corrective actions.
- Review engineering crew rotations and verify the qualifications of newly assigned officers.
- Assess and approve operational budgets covering routine operations, dry dockings, surveys, repairs, and additional technical services.
- Track vessel expenditure against approved budgets and authorize extra spending when justified.
- Newbuild Projects: Review and approve pre-delivery budgets, analyse sea trial results, monitor vessel delivery progress, and manage warranty claims where applicable.
- Review proposed work scopes and budgets while monitoring dry dock execution.
- Ensure fleet performance aligns with management targets for safety, operational performance, procurement, and financial KPIs.
Requirements
- Tanker sailing experience till the rank of Chief Engineer and holding Class 1 Certificate of Competency
- At least 3 years shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent or Owner's Representative managing tanker vessels
