Provide daily operational updates and reports to the Team Leader or Regional Head of Oil Operations as part of routine duties.
Undertake additional assignments or projects as directed by the Team Leader or Regional Head of Oil Operations.
Act as the primary contact for standard internal and external operational inquiries.
Maintain consistent communication with customers, offering timely updates and addressing challenges related to contractual commitments.
Work closely with traders and internal teams to ensure smooth deal execution, proactively proposing practical and strategic solutions to operational issues.
Serve as an escalation point for internal and external disputes, coordinating prompt and effective resolution.
Actively participate in team meetings, contributing insights and ensuring operational matters are addressed efficiently.
Support the team by sharing workload responsibilities during peak periods.
Ensure adherence to cargo shipment procedures, industry regulations, and international transport policies across trucking, rail, and maritime logistics.
Oversee cargo handling and inventory operations by coordinating with ports, terminals, agents, and inspectors, ensuring compliance with legal transport requirements.
Support trading strategies through operational expertise, maintaining strong external relationships, monitoring delivery and supply conditions, and flagging logistics issues to traders promptly.
Review trade documentation, confirmations, and contracts for accuracy and timely execution. Coordinate with credit teams on Letters of Credit and manage related documentation.
Track and analyze product movements, assisting with reconciliations and loss control investigations to resolve discrepancies.
Maintain accurate records of storage positions, product movements, and accruals, ensuring correct cost allocation to trades, strategies, or storage facilities.
Conduct month-end inventory reconciliations, identify variances, and implement corrective actions as required.
Collaborate with traders on inventory forecasting and support forward planning.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Team Leader or Regional Head of Oil Operations.
Requirements
Minimum of 8 years experience in operational roles within a commodities trading environment, preferably in Dry Bulk or Metals.
Strong knowledge of commodities, including specifications, components, bulk handling, inspection, and regulatory standards.
Comprehensive understanding of cargo logistics, covering dry freight, air freight, rail, and trucking operations, with adherence to port restrictions at loading and discharge points.
Experience in preparing and managing import/export documentation, including monitoring cargo and transport insurance.
Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently to complete tasks.
