Operations Research Analyst

Reporting To: Operations Manager / Project Director Work

Location: Office-based with occasional site visits Role Objective To apply advanced analytical techniques, mathematical modeling, and optimization methods to improve construction project operations, resource allocation, scheduling, and risk management, enhancing overall efficiency and decision-making.

Key Roles and Responsibilities 1. Operations Analysis and Optimization . Develop mathematical models to optimize manpower allocation, material logistics, and equipment usage. . Perform quantitative analysis to improve project scheduling, reduce costs, and minimize delays. . Use simulation and forecasting techniques to predict project risks and propose mitigation strategies.

2. Data Collection and Validation . Gather and validate operational data from site reports, ERP systems, and project databases. . Collaborate with site teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of input data. . Conduct limited site visits to understand ground realities impacting operational models.

3. Decision Support and Reporting . Build dashboards and reports using Excel, Power BI, or Python to provide actionable insights. . Present findings and recommendations to project managers and stakeholders to aid strategic planning. . Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and suggest process improvements.

4. Risk and Resource Management . Analyze potential risks related to resource shortages, delays, and workflow bottlenecks. . Propose contingency plans and optimized resource reallocation strategies. . Support procurement planning through demand forecasting and inventory control analysis.

Skills & Attributes . MSc in Computer Science, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or related field. . Strong analytical and mathematical modeling skills. . Proficient in data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, Power BI, Python, R, or similar. . Experience with optimization algorithms, simulation models, and statistical analysis. . Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations. . Good communication skills to liaise with technical teams and non-technical stakeholders. . Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities. . Comfortable with occasional site visits to collect data and validate models, but primarily office-based. . Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
