Job Description

Job Summary

Manage daily pub operations to ensure smooth service, lead and develop staff, maintain high customer satisfaction, control inventory and cash flow, and ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily pub operations to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery
  • Manage opening and closing procedures to maintain operational readiness
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards throughout the premises
  • Monitor customer flow, table turnover, and service speed during peak hours to optimize guest experience
  • Lead, train, and supervise servers, bartenders, and kitchen crew to enhance team performance
  • Prepare staff schedules ensuring adequate manpower during peak periods
  • Conduct staff briefings, coaching sessions, and performance reviews to improve skills and accountability
  • Handle staff discipline, resolve conflicts, and address operational issues professionally
  • Maintain high service standards and promptly resolve customer complaints to ensure satisfaction
  • Foster a friendly and welcoming atmosphere to build customer loyalty
  • Monitor service quality and provide guidance to improve overall guest experience
  • Manage alcohol inventory including beer, wine, spirits, mixers, and supplies to prevent shortages
  • Track stock levels and place timely orders with suppliers to maintain optimal inventory
  • Prevent overstocking and wastage by implementing proper stock rotation (FIFO)
  • Conduct accurate stock-taking and update management reports regularly
  • Oversee cash handling and daily sales reconciliation to ensure financial accuracy
  • Monitor sales performance, promotions, and profit margins to support business goals
  • Prepare weekly and monthly operational reports for management review
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost control to optimize financial performance
  • Ensure compliance with alcohol regulations, safety rules, and licensing requirements
  • Maintain proper records and enforce responsible alcohol service guidelines among staff
  • Oversee maintenance of equipment and facilities to ensure operational safety and efficiency

Required competencies and certifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in F&B or pub/bar management
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and public holidays as required

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and develop a team
  • Effective communication, problem-solving, and customer management abilities
  • Knowledge of alcohol service, stock control, and basic accounting principles
  • Hands-on, proactive approach to managing fast-paced environments
