Job Description
Role Overview
SCURO is Singapore's original glow-in-the-dark studio, delivering neon birthday parties, team bonding sessions and art jam workshops across two venues. We are rated 4.9 stars on Google and work with families and corporate clients who expect a seamless, memorable experience.
We are hiring an Operations Manager to own the day-to-day running of the studio. The role covers party preparation, customer communications, inventory management and studio readiness, and reports directly to the founder. It is a hands-on position with genuine ownership, designed to free the founder to focus on larger events, complex problem-solving and business development.
Work Arrangement
• Tuesday to Friday: on-site at the studio
• Saturday and Sunday: remote, available to respond to customer enquiries and support the team during events
• Monday: scheduled rest day
We offer unlimited paid time off. As events are booked weeks in advance, plan your leave ahead with cover arranged and preparation completed before time away.
Key Responsibilities
• Confirm party details with clients each week, including headcount, theme, timing and special requests
• Prepare all materials for weekend parties: print templates, prepare canvases, make slime, pack goodie bags and set up wall projections
• Pack and organise materials for offsite events
• Reset the studio after each weekend so it is ready for the next
• Prepare custom templates to client specifications
• Manage customer enquiries that fall outside standard admin responses, including special requests and custom template support
• Conduct weekly inventory checks and reorder stock ahead of shortages
• Respond to emails and WhatsApp messages in a timely manner, including on weekends
• Plan and manage the staff roster as the role develops
Responsibilities will expand over time as the business grows.
Qualifications
Reliability is the most important quality for this role. Events proceed on schedule regardless of circumstances, and the successful candidate consistently delivers on commitments.
Experience
• 1 to 3 years in operations, events, hospitality, retail or a studio-based environment
• Working knowledge of Canva, Adobe Illustrator or similar design tools for template preparation is an advantage
• Clear, professional and warm communication with clients over email and WhatsApp
• Highly organised and self-directed, able to manage a weekly operating rhythm with minimal supervision
• Genuine enthusiasm for creative experiences, children's events and delivering memorable moments
• No art background is required, but comfort working in a hands-on creative environment is essential
• Meticulous in execution: correct names on templates, accurate counts in goodie bags, complete inventory records
What We Offer
• Unlimited paid time off, planned responsibly around the event calendar
• A creative, energetic studio environment
• Direct collaboration with the founder and ownership of outcomes from day one
• Clear progression into staff management, larger events and broader operations as SCURO grows
