Operations Manager (Engineering & Infrastructure)

(1) Job Summary
- Our client operates an established engineering and infrastructure services company in Singapore. They are looking to hire a full-time experienced Operations Manager who can oversee both site operations and industrial supply chain execution.
- This role requires strong coordination across contractors, technical teams, suppliers, and internal departments while maintaining high standards of safety, documentation, and operational performance.
- This position offers a clear leadership development pathway, where successful candidates will be groomed to take on broader leadership responsibilities and potentially progress into a General Manager role.
(2) Job Scope
Civil / Utility Operations
- Oversee daily site operations including scheduling, manpower planning, equipment allocation and progress monitoring.
- Coordinate with main contractors, subcontractors and stakeholders to ensure project delivery timelines are met.
- Supervise utility and civil works such as trenching, pipe laying, cable installation and underground services coordination.
- Ensure full compliance with workplace safety requirements including risk assessments, method statements and permit-to-work processes.
- Manage site logistics including materials, equipment mobilisation and operational readiness.
- Maintain structured documentation including site records, progress updates and QA reporting.
M&E Distribution and Technical Service Operations
- Manage operational workflows including quotation coordination, order processing, procurement follow-ups and dispatch coordination.
- Track lead times and provide proactive updates to customers on order progress and delays.
- Maintain inventory discipline including stock accuracy, SKU management and spare parts availability.
- Coordinate troubleshooting support with technicians or service partners and ensure service documentation is completed.
- Work closely with sales, engineering and finance teams to ensure smooth operational handovers and execution.
Process and Performance Management
- Establish and enforce operational SOPs and process checklists across site operations, procurement and service reporting.
- Track operational KPIs including safety performance, schedule adherence, order cycle time and supplier performance.
- Lead and coach operational staff including supervisors, coordinators and administrative support teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce operational inefficiencies and downtime incidents.
- Support first-pass troubleshooting coordination for industrial burners and high-pressure pump systems.
(3) Job Requirements
- Experience in Singapore utility or civil works such as cable works, reinstatement or underground infrastructure projects preferred.
- Exposure to industrial equipment troubleshooting (combustion systems or high-pressure pumps preferred.
- Familiarity with ISO or bizSAFE operational environments preferred.
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction/site operations and/or industrial distribution or engineering supply chains.
- Strong knowledge of workplace safety and contractor supervision practices.
- Proven ability to manage vendors, subcontractors, logistics and multiple operational stakeholders.
- Strong communication and reporting skills with disciplined operational follow-through.
- Comfortable using Excel and operational reporting systems; ERP/CRM exposure is advantageous.
