Lead day-to-day operations of the data centre, ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient infrastructure to support high-density workloads. This role oversees facility operations, team management, and vendor coordination to maintain 24/7 operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily data centre operations.
- Oversee and develop the data centre operations team.
- Ensure continuous (24/7) operational readiness, incident response, and service reliability.
- Establish and maintain operational procedures, including emergency response and maintenance protocols.
- Manage data centre infrastructure (power, cooling, environmental systems, and physical facilities).
- Monitor capacity (power, cooling, space) and plan for infrastructure growth.
- Coordinate maintenance, upgrades, and vendor activities to minimize operational risks.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, security policies, and operational standards.
- Oversee asset management, documentation, and infrastructure inventory.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on deployment, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of systems.
- Track performance metrics, incidents, and operational reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 12 years of experience in data centre operations, including 3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience managing mission-critical infrastructure and vendor operations.
- Strong understanding of data centre systems (power, cooling, environmental controls).
- Proven team leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage operational priorities in a 24/7 environment.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to high-density or hyperscale computing environments.
- Familiarity with liquid cooling, power distribution, and facility monitoring systems.
