YOUR ROLE
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and managing end-to-end operations in a 24/7 environment, ensuring seamless execution, service excellence, cost efficiency, and team performance. This role oversees a large team comprising Supervisors, Customer Service Officers, Team Leads, and Logistics Assistants, driving operational discipline, workforce planning, safety, and continuous improvement to meet business and customer requirements.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Main areas of focus and accountability of the role – detail in order of importance the main areas of accountability of the role:
1 Operational Leadership
· Lead and manage daily operations across all shifts to ensure uninterrupted 24/7 service delivery
· Develop and execute operational plans to meet service level agreements (SLA), productivity, and quality targets
· Monitor operational performance, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions promptly
· Customer focused, preparation for business review, monthly, quarterly basis
· Ensure compliance with operational procedures, safety standards, and company policies
2 People Management & Workforce Planning
· Manage and coach Supervisors and Team Leads, building a strong leadership pipeline
· Drive workforce planning, shift rostering, manpower optimization, and overtime control
· Lead performance management, including goal setting, appraisals, coaching, and disciplinary actions when necessary
· Promote employee engagement, morale, and retention in a high-volume, shift-based environment
3 Process & Continuous Improvement
· Identify process inefficiencies and lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma principles preferred)
· Standardize workflows and drive consistent execution across all shifts
· Partner with cross-functional teams to implement system, process, or layout improvements
4 Cost, Productivity & Performance Management
· Manage operational budgets, cost control initiatives, and productivity improvement plans
· Track and report KPIs such as throughput, accuracy, on-time performance, utilization, absenteeism, and attrition
· Analyse data trends to support decision-making and performance optimization
5 Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
· Ensure strict adherence to workplace health and safety regulations
· Drive incident prevention, investigation, and corrective action plans
· Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, and internal control requirements
6 Stakeholder Management
· Act as the key point of contact for internal stakeholders and customers
· Manage escalations and ensure timely resolution of operational issues
· Support new business onboarding, ramp-ups, and operational changes
7 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
· Service level and SLA adherence
· Productivity and cost efficiency
· Safety and compliance performance
· Employee engagement, retention, and leadership capability
· Continuous improvement outcomes
