OPERATIONS MANAGER (CONSTRUCTION)

Job Description & Requirements

Responsibilities

• Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects
• Manage and supervise the administration works
• Office based for paperwork and site visiting for site progression
• Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
• Interact daily with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field
• Conduct on site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other)
• Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel's performance) and report regularly on project status
• Supervise ongoing site activities closely
• Liaise with Clients, Consultants and Authorities for management of project
• Responsible for on-site technical / engineering / administrative matters
• Involve in project planning, implementation, and close monitoring of projects
• Review the relevant standards and test requirements before commencement of the jobs
• Organize and provide staffing, equipment and materials for testing
• Manage and minimize operations costs (e.g. manpower, maintenance of equipment, overtime, etc)
• Assign responsibilities and mentor project team
• Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
• Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions

Requirements and skills

• Bachelor's degree
• Excellent knowledge of design and visualisations software such as AutoCAD
• Advanced MS Office skills
• A minimum of 10 years of industry knowledge may be strongly desired
• Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
• Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
• Project management and supervision skills
• Decision making ability and leadership skills
• Time management and organization skills
• Class 3 Driving Licence
