Industry: Marine Ship Repair

Job Purpose:

To coordinate and oversee day-to-day ship repair operations, ensuring repair projects are executed efficiently, safely and within the agreed timelines and budgets. The role involves coordinating with vessel owners, shipyards, subcontractors, suppliers and internal technical teams to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and oversee daily ship repair activities, including vessel maintenance, repairs, retrofitting and conversion projects, ensuring smooth execution from commencement to completion.

• Liaise with shipowners, vessel operators, shipyards, subcontractors and suppliers to coordinate repair schedules, manpower arrangements, materials and equipment requirements.
• Monitor project progress, ensuring repair works are carried out according to agreed specifications, timelines, quality standards and contractual requirements.
• Prepare and manage operational documentation, including repair specifications, work orders, quotations, service reports, progress updates and project-related records.
• Coordinate the procurement and delivery of spare parts, tools, equipment and materials required for ship repair projects, ensuring timely availability.
• Conduct site visits and attend onboard vessels or shipyards to monitor work progress, coordinate with technicians and resolve operational issues when required.
• Support the preparation of cost estimates, quotations, invoices and operational budgets while monitoring project expenses to ensure cost efficiency.
• Ensure all repair activities comply with company procedures, workplace safety requirements, environmental regulations and relevant marine industry standards.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering, Maritime Studies, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

• Familiarity with ship repair activities, vessel maintenance and marine engineering systems.

• Good coordination, communication and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to liaise effectively with clients, shipyards, subcontractors and technical personnel.

• Willingness to travel to shipyards and attend onboard vessels when required.
