Our client is a historic and major player in the global soft commodities trading and supply chain management sector.
Responsibilities
- Carry out post trade contract activities and day-to-day execution of physical contracts concluded by the regional commercial team on a variety of supply chain flows including but not limited to import & export (containers/breakbulk) shipments, domestic warehousing and trucking deliveries into and within Australia and New Zealand. This involves planning shipments/deliveries to payment collection.
- Liaising with Local and Regional Commercial, Operations, Finance and Trade Finance teams to plan for organize smooth execution inter-team workflows, especially where any supplier payments or client receivables requires bank funding.
- Acknowledgment of nomination to buyer and sending it on to shipper ensuring shipper acceptance of nomination.
- Issuing documentary instructions to shipper for timely preparation of shipping documents and follow up on draft documents for checking.
- Creating shipment number in our in-house system, Suite
- Ensure all drafts are checked and confirmed by buyer and passing on to shipper. Follow up on scanned signed documents and original documents.
- Instructing/appointing surveyors at loading and discharging port(s).
- Create sale invoice and upload all shipping documents in Suite.
- Ensuring payments from buyers are made in time before shipments arrive at destination.
- Managing the payment of suppliers, freight invoices and any other costs.
- Ensure all information like documentary instructions, LOIs or LCs (if required) are in place before loading/discharging.
- Preparation & maintenance of shipment documents in in-house system Suite and any hard copies if required.
- Arrange local or overseas courier to send out original documents.
- Handle customer's requests relating to QA documentation
- Follow up on customers claims and other shipment related disputes working closely with traders for a resolution
- Join weekly execution calls with Singapore and/or Regional teams.
Requirements:
- At least 3-5 years of experience in international import/export trade and shipping logistics i.e. container shipments or breakbulk/bulk shipments.
- Diploma/Degree/Professional Certificates in Logistics/Supply Chain Management/Business/Maritime/related disciplines
- Established in negotiating documents basis CAD, Bank Documentary Collection, and Documentary Letters of Credit
- Ability to communicate across multi teams in the Asia/Oceania regional offices via Email and Teams, Messenger Chats.
- Fast learner and able to work under pressure and deadlines
- Ability to act with integrity when dealing with confidential matters
- Team player with strong work ethics, communication & organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
Desirable:
- Experience in Dairy/RSA/SAOL/Sugar No. 11 rules and regulation and Incoterms.
- Experience in Letter of Credits negotiation and UCP, ISBP rules.
