Operational Accountant (1 year Contract) - Singapore

We are partnering with a leading global technology company to hire an Operational Accountant to support the finance team in delivering accurate financial reporting and strengthening operational accounting processes.

This role is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, enjoys collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and can quickly add value to support a high-performing finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Month-End Close: Manage and execute month-end close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.

• Account Reconciliation: Perform balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyse monthly financial reports in line with accounting standards and internal policies.

• Variance Analysis: Provide detailed analysis on variances against budget and forecasts, offering insights to stakeholders.

• Internal Controls: Support the maintenance and enhancement of financial controls to ensure compliance with corporate policies.

• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline month-end processes and improve operational efficiency.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with finance and business teams to gather information and provide accounting support.

• Ad-Hoc Projects: Contribute to finance transformation and strategic initiatives where required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

• 5+ years of operational accounting experience, with strong exposure to month-end close processes

• Prior audit experience is highly preferred

• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting principles

• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle

• Advanced Excel skills with ability to work with large datasets

• Experience using SQL for data analysis is advantageous

• Familiarity with Google Suite, MS Office, and collaboration tools

• CPA qualification preferred but not mandatory

• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail

• Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders

• Experience working in a global organisation is essential technology industry exposure is a plus
