We are a shipowning company operating tug boats and barges to support our own cargo operations and freight services. We are looking for a responsible and hands-on individual to join our team as an Operations Executive. Training will be provided for candidates who are willing to learn and grow in the marine industry.
Job Responsibilities
Liaise with tug boat and barge crew on daily operational matters, including crew welfare, medical arrangements, maintenance issues, repairs, and crew changes.
Assist in managing routine vessel requirements such as surveys, docking schedules, insurance renewals, and compliance with relevant maritime regulations (e.g. MPA requirements).
Coordinate procurement of spare parts, vessel supplies, bunker fuel, fresh water, and other onboard necessities.
Source and liaise with suppliers prepare and issue Purchase Orders (PO).
Verify supplier invoices and highlight discrepancies where necessary.
Monitor and coordinate the maintenance of deck equipment and ensure all certificates are valid and up to date.
Maintain proper records of vessel documents, purchases, operational expenses, and shipment schedules.
Assist in coordinating tug and barge movements for internal cargo and chartered vessels.
Provide operational support to the Shipping / Operations team.
Assist in preparation and submission of monthly operational reports and project-specific updates.
Perform other ad-hoc duties related to marine and shipping operations as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Minimum Diploma in Maritime, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.
- Candidates without relevant qualifications but with strong willingness to learn are welcome to apply.
- Able to communicate in Bahasa Melayu and/or Indonesia to liaise with vessel crew is preferred but not
compulsory.
- Entry-level candidates with strong interest in marine operations may also apply.
- Responsible, organised, and able to handle operational matters in a fast-paced environment.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
