Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced OpenShift Engineer to design, implement, automate, and support enterprise OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in containerization, infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native platform operations, with hands-on experience in Red Hat OpenShift, Ansible, Terraform, and DevOps practices.
Key Responsibilities
OpenShift Platform Engineering
- Design, implement, configure, and manage Red Hat OpenShift (OCP) clusters and containerized applications
- Support OpenShift platform installation, upgrades, migrations, patching, and ongoing administration
- Manage OpenShift cluster performance, availability, scalability, and capacity planning
- Troubleshoot OpenShift platform, container, and infrastructure-related issues in collaboration with internal teams and vendor support
- Perform health checks, technical assessments, and provide best-practice recommendations for OpenShift environments
Infrastructure Automation & DevOps
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible and Terraform
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployment automation
- Work with Bitbucket, Jenkins, and other CI/CD tools for code commits, pull requests, automated testing, and deployment workflows
- Develop automation scripts and reusable deployment frameworks to improve operational efficiency and consistency
- Implement unit and integration testing for infrastructure automation processes
Containerization & Cloud-Native Solutions
- Collaborate with development teams to onboard, optimize, and support applications on the OpenShift platform
- Implement best practices for containerization, orchestration, automation, and cloud-native application deployment
- Support container security initiatives and ensure compliance with organizational security standards and policies
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including Development, Operations, Network, and Security teams to align infrastructure with application and business requirements
Documentation & Support
- Develop and maintain technical documentation covering architecture, configuration, troubleshooting, backup, recovery, and operational procedures for OCP environments
- Provide technical advisory and recommendations for OpenShift architecture, system upgrades, migrations, and operational improvements
- Support deployment automation and operational reliability initiatives across enterprise environments
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP)
- Expertise in Ansible and/or Terraform for infrastructure automation and configuration management
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Bitbucket, Git, or similar DevOps tools
- Strong understanding of containerization technologies and orchestration concepts
- Experience troubleshooting Linux, containers, OpenShift clusters, and infrastructure services
- Familiarity with cloud-native application deployment and DevOps best practices
- Good understanding of infrastructure security, container security, and compliance standards
- Experience with scripting and automation for platform operations and deployments
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Kubernetes administration and cloud platforms
- Exposure to enterprise infrastructure operations and platform engineering
- Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability tools
- Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions
- Red Hat/OpenShift certifications are advantageous
