The Onboard Loading Driver is responsible for the delivery and onboard loading of ship spares and marine supplies in transit. The role involves working within port and shipyard environments, coordinating with vessels, and ensuring accurate cargo handling, documentation, and customs compliance. Flexibility to work shifts and after office hours is required due to vessel schedules.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ship Spares & Onboard Operations
. Deliver ship spares and marine supplies to vessels at lighterage terminal, berth, or shipyard
. Perform onboard loading operations safely in coordination with vessel crew and operations team
. Handle ship spares in transit, ensuring cargo integrity and timely delivery
2. Port, Shipyard & Lighterage Operations
. Carry out collections and deliveries at PSA Port, shipyards, Jurong Port, and lighterage points
. Comply with port, terminal, and marine safety regulations at all times
. Liaise with port operators, ship crew, and marine coordinators during operations
3. Cargo Handling & Verification
. Load, unload, and secure cargo properly to prevent damage or loss
. Verify cargo against delivery orders, packing lists, and shipping documents
. Ensure correct quantities, labels, and condition before delivery or loading
4. Documentation & Customs Clearance
. Handle customs clearance processes, including permit collection and submission
. Ensure all customs, port passes, and delivery documents are accurate and complete
. Obtain onboard acknowledgements, signatures, or delivery confirmation when required
5. Vehicle & Safety Compliance
. Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report defects or maintenance issues
. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and compliance with LTA and port regulations
. Follow company SOPs, workplace safety, and marine safety guidelines
6. Work Schedule & Support
. Willing to work after office hours, night shifts, weekends, and public holidays
. Support ad-hoc marine logistics and urgent vessel requirements as needed
Requirements & Qualifications
. Valid Singapore Class 3 / Class 4 driving licence
. Experience in onboard loading, ship spares delivery, or marine logistics preferred
. Familiarity with PSA, shipyard, Jurong Port, and lighterage operations is an advantage
. Basic knowledge of customs permits and marine documentation
. Physically fit and comfortable working in port and vessel environments
. Safety-conscious, reliable, and able to work independently
