Oil Trader (Mid-level /Junior) - Location: Singapore

We are partnering with an entrepreneurial energy trading house looking to expand its trading team in Singapore.

The firm combines physical market access and an entrepreneurial trading culture, providing traders with the opportunity to take ownership of their portfolios and directly contribute to the growth of the business.

This role will focus on fuel oil trading (cargo) or refined products trading.

Responsibilities

• Support and grow profitable third-party trading activities across physical and paper energy markets - in fuel oil , or light distillates
• Identify arbitrage and market opportunities across regional and international markets - - in fuel oil , or light distillates
• Develop and maintain relationships with refiners, suppliers, traders, brokers and end-users.
• Execute trades within approved risk limits and portfolio mandates
• Monitor market developments, pricing dynamics and trading opportunities
• Collaborate closely with operations, risk and shipping teams to ensure seamless trade execution
• Contribute commercial ideas and support the continued growth of the trading business

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience within oil, refined products or energy trading markets
• Experience trading physical products either in Fuel Oil, Gasoline, Naphtha, Distillates, LPG, Biofuels, Crude Oil or related products
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to trading profitability and commercial growth
• Strong understanding of physical and/or derivatives markets
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills
• Commercially driven, entrepreneurial and eager to take ownership
• Ambition to develop into a larger risk-taking and portfolio management role
