Job Description:
- Responsible for coordinating and leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of a robust HSSE management system onboard, enhancing the Safety Culture, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Lead and manage the HSSE team, to ensure effective implementation of HSSE processes and activities, and liaison with offshore leadership to ensure alignment and effective communication of HSSE policies and procedures ultimately ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for all personnel.
- Assure and provide expert technical HSSE support to the unity, including, but not limited to fire brigade and prevention, CARE Cards, documentation, records, CIPA support, reports, administrative matters, general training and new employee's induction.
- Assure the implementation of HSSE guides, process standards, work instructions, programs, plans, tools and practices consistent with responsibilities defined by the company's management system requirements promoting onboard awareness and carrying out audits and inspections to ensure the compliance with safety requirements.
- Represent the unit's HSSE area towards the client and onshore / offshore team, participating of the management meetings, presenting performance indicators and addressing relevant HSEQ issues along with the leadership, establishing the strategies to reach the targets.
- Proactively support the offshore team on HSSE subjects, providing technical advice in accordance with policies, systems, processes, procedures and methods established by management system, client, host country and/or global requirements and regulations.
- Provide support to operational and administrative management on the incidents prevention and impacts to employees, contractors, suppliers, community, environment, company assets and image.
- Support leadership with the application of incident investigations techniques as per MODEC's procedures, in order to determine root causes and proper actions to correct and prevent recurrence.
- Ensures the company PTW system is adhered, and all onboard activities are performed according to the procedures and guidelines, meeting the safety requirements. Provides onboard leadership in the application of the PTW System, as well as carries out inspections and audits to ensure the compliance with the PTW system.
- If necessary, support in the activities of inspection of luggage, people and cargo on the disembark from offshore units, in compliance with NORMAM 27 - item 0115, regarding dangerous items handling.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Safety Technical Degree is required or Bachelor's Degree with Post Graduate Qualification in Safety Engineering is required.
- Minimum 5 years of Offshore Safety Technician Experience is required.
- Expanding HSSE disciplines through a wide variety of relevant operational/project and issue experience is required.
- Verifiable performance and delivery in projects/operations with different risk profiles, cultures and with varying strengths of workforce is required.
- Either has specialist experience in an area of HSEQ management or relevant generalist experience of at least one of the following: Projects, Operations and Marine Safety is required.
- Supervisory experience is a competitive edge.
- Working knowledge of risk management techniques for identifying, assessing and mitigating HSSE risks is required.
