Overview

The Office HSSE Advisor is responsible for monitoring, implementing, and controlling all Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Human Rights (HSSE & HuR) matters related to office personnel and contractors. The role ensures full compliance with local, state, and federal legislation, as well as internal company requirements.

This position provides HSSE expertise across Office HSSE, Project HSSE support, and Human Rights (HuR) initiatives.

Job Description

Office HSSE Support

  • Monitor, review, and update HSSE and Human Rights (HuR) procedures to ensure alignment with legislative changes and internal directives.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce Office HSSE policies and procedures to ensure local regulatory compliance and corporate alignment.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, emergency communications, and drill exercises.
  • Conduct regular HSSE training, track training completion, and lead effective HSSE awareness campaigns.
  • Perform office risk assessments, implement control measures, and ensure compliance through routine inspections.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Address HSSE concerns raised by employees by investigating hazards and mitigating identified risks.
  • Analyse HSSE observations and intervention trends, sharing lessons learned to continuously improve safety performance.
  • Manage the Emergency Response Team in accordance with local government regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of HSSE inspections, incidents, investigations, and training activities.
  • Stay up to date with relevant HSSE legislation to ensure ongoing legal compliance.
  • Promote a strong health and safety culture by leading by example and demonstrating commitment to HSSE responsibilities.

Project HSSE & Human Rights Support

  • Conduct HSSE reviews for Supplier Qualification Requests (SQRs) and support vendor audits as required.
  • Support the Project HSSE Manager with HSSE statistics, KPIs, trend analysis, and reporting.
  • Manage and maintain HSSE training records to ensure workforce compliance with project requirements.
  • Conduct workforce Field Listening Tours and welfare inspections to monitor worker wellbeing and address concerns.
  • Support Worker Welfare Assessments and assist external stakeholders during social performance and human rights evaluations.
  • Collaborate with the Group Human Rights function on initiatives, assessments, and reporting.

Education & Certifications

  • Minimum Diploma in Safety Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline.
  • Certified Auditor in ISO 45001:2018 and/or ISO 14001:2015.
  • Certified Auditor in SA8000 (Human Rights & Social Accountability) highly preferred.
  • Local HSSE certification as required by government authorities (if applicable).

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of HSSE experience, including management of HSSE in an office environment.
  • Strong, proven knowledge across Health, Safety, Security, and Environment disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience in human rights and worker welfare management is highly desirable.

Work Arrangement

This is a hybrid role involving work across multiple locations:

  • 2 days per week on Project Site
  • 2 days per week at in Office
  • 1 day Work From Home, in line with the Office WFH policy
