Position: Ocean FCL Procurement Executive/Snr Executive (Asia Pacific)
- To source the best possible cost from Carriers so that we can provide our Sales and Operations with competitive pricing to win morebusinesses for BDP.
- This position reports to the Senior Ocean Procurement Manager (Asia Pacific).
Key Job Description
- To take care of specific ocean trade lanes as assigned by the Division.
- To establish a strong relationship with our partner carriers.
- To work with our carriers to procure the best possible rates to win a business.
- To act as the subject matter expert (SME) for the respective trade lanes under your care and to provide pricing and market intelligence guidance to our internal stakeholders.
- To collaborate with our regional sales in providing competitive and customised freight solutions for all cross-trade rates requests.
- To assist in resolving regional rates/ contracts clarifications or disputes with carriers, when needed.
- To work with our country procurement teams in resolving/mitigating space issues whenever necessary.
- To collaborate and synergise with our country procurement teams to share and compare freight rates from both regional and local carriers.
- To endeavour to achieve a good yield per TEU for our secured/existing business through renegotiation with our liners as an ongoing process.
- To endeavour to grow the trade lane volumes under your care through helping our Sales to secure more businesses with our competitive pricing and customized solution.
- To file rates with our carriers for all new businesses.
- To work with our carriers to secure space allocation and long-term rates based on NAC strategy, where applicable.
- To adhere to the core carrier strategy in line with our corporate direction, where applicable.
- To analyse, review and price strategically for regional/ global tenders for respective trade lanes under your control.
- To attend Global/ regional Tender Kick-Off calls, where applicable.
- Work with our Regional/Global Tender Management Team on postmortem of RFQs for continuous strategic improvements.
- To provide monthly volume report for respective trade lanes under your care.
- To provide market report/intelligence to internal stakeholders for respective trade lanes under your care.
- To provide analysis/ explanations for Loss trade lanes.
- Any other tasks as assigned by your superior.
Requirements
- Diploma/ Tertiary qualifications in supply chain/logistics.
- At least 2 to 5 years of ocean freight forwarding experience, preferably in pricing procurement.
- A team player who is self-motivated and with good interpersonal skills.
- A confident individual with effective verbal and written communicationskills.
- A persistent individual with good negotiation skills.
- A resilient individual who can work under pressure.
- Conversant in MS skills, especially in using EXCEL spreadsheet
