The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the assessment and management of patients referred for occupational therapy in various clinical settings.
Job Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
. Assesses and manages patients referred for occupational therapy independently and implements appropriate treatment plans.
. Reports to referring doctor and other members of the medical team.
. Documents patient occupational therapy records accurately.
. Charges patients accurately.
. Performs registration of new patients.
. Updates individual performance statistical records regularly.
. Complies with clinical and service standards.
. Practices within areas of professional competence and seek clinical support from supervisor / other healthcare professionals when appropriate.
Secondary Responsibilities
. Collaborates with other healthcare members and participate in case conferences.
. Assists in the supervision of Therapy Assistants in the workgroup.
. Participates in departmental QIP and other activities.
. Assists senior in inventory checks and upkeep of equipment and work area.
. Contributes to departmental inservice training programmes.
. Actively updates occupational therapy knowledge and skills.
Requirements
. At least local Diploma/Degree in Occupational therapy.
. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
. Service oriented and customer focused.
. Result oriented.
. Team worker and also able to work independently.
. Competent in IT skills (Microsoft Excel / Word / Access / Powerpoint).
