O2C Global Process Analyst - Technology Champion

Summary

The Technology Champion GPA role is a technical and analytical expert who enables data and technology development needs for O2C's five sub-pillars Credit and Collections, Revenue Operations, Business to Consumer, Cash Applications, and Invoicing Compliance. The Champion reports to the GPO technology structure, the O2C Technology Manager but sits with the sub-pillar's team day to day, staying close to the business it serves, with a dotted line to the sub-pillar's Global Owner (GO). The GO sets what the Champion works on and in what order, because the GO answers for the sub-pillar's results the Technology Manager holds the technical standard, documentation and continuity practice, and coordination with FDT and across sub-pillars, giving the Champion a strong support structure to build on as work grows.

This role is at the forefront of transforming Apple's financial operations through innovative and AI-driven solutions. It is a critical technical and analytical leader, responsible for partnering with the GO, Finance, IS&T, and FDT teams to design, develop, and deploy solutions that drive efficiency, accuracy, and actionable insights. This role is a trusted business partner, engaging across various functions to support data analysis, enhance existing products, and support product users. This role requires a passion for emerging technologies, a strong understanding of financial processes, and the ability to translate complex business needs into impactful technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• AI-Powered Process Optimization: Analyze current O2C business processes and data flows to identify opportunities for AI/ML-driven automation, predictive analytics, and intelligent decision-making. Partner with Process Champions to fix the underlying process before automating it.
• Data Savvy: Leverage data from diverse sources (Snowflake, EDW, external APIs, etc.) to fuel technology solutions and advanced analytics.
• Solution Development & Deployment: Develop end-to-end solutions, leveraging a modern technology stack (SQL, Python, Dataiku, cloud platforms) to create stand-alone or integrated AI models, data visualizations, and analytic applications.
• Standard & Governance: Apply and help shape the one O2C technical standard for how solutions are designed, documented, tested, released, and supported. Carry that standard into the work with Wizards in the sub-pillar, so what O2C builds stays interoperable with the rest of Finance.
• Continuity & Documentation: Maintain documentation sufficient for someone else to pick up the work, keep solutions version-controlled, and ensure a second person knows anything the sub-pillar runs on. Contribute to the Technology Manager's inventory of what runs in O2C - what it does, who owns it, who else knows it, and what it depends on upstream.
• Reuse Across Sub-Pillars: Work directly with Tech Champions in other sub-pillars to reuse existing solutions before building new ones, drawing on the shared inventory rather than routing through a meeting.
• Insight Communication & Storytelling: Translate complex data insights into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations for Finance stakeholders and leadership, using compelling visualizations and data storytelling techniques.
• Data Governance & Security: Awareness of data security protocols, privacy, and SOX requirements, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and policies - including the added rigor O2C's work requires on top of FDT's Finance-wide baseline.
• AI Technology Research & Evaluation: Continuously research and evaluate emerging AI technologies, data science methodologies, and data visualization tools to enhance the team's technical capabilities and drive innovation. Bring learning back from Finance-wide Champion forums and communities of practice.
• Finance Data Wizard Enablement: Mentor and guide Finance Data Wizards, providing technical expertise, best practices, and governance models - helping Wizards recognize when a solution has grown past what one person can support.
• Operating Balance: Continue to carry a share of the sub-pillar's day-to-day operating work alongside building new solutions, in balance with the GO and Technology Manager as the work evolves each quarter.

Minimum Qualifications

• This role requires strong technical, problem solving, and analytical skills. Experience with, or the ability to quickly learn business processes, an eagerness to learn new technologies, and strong communication and influencing skills are key differentiators.
• Proven experience in implementing and supporting data analysis and AI/ML models
• Understanding of relational database concepts and hands-on experience with common database platforms
• Expertise in programming languages such as Python and SQL
• Data modeling experience using large datasets and ability to interpret the output of those large datasets
• Demonstrated proficiency with common data visualization tools such as Tableau
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to extract, understand, and document business requirements
• Ability to work effectively within a dual-line structure - responsive to the sub-pillar's Global Owner for priorities, and to the Technology Manager for technical standard and practice

Preferred Qualification

• Understanding of modern data security requirements, experience with applying data encryption and data security standards a plus
• Corporate finance and accounting experience a major advantage
