Position Summary
The Immunology Translational Research Programme aims to understand the role of the immune system in health and diseases and its regulation with the goal of enabling discovery and development of more effective immunotherapy, new treatment guidelines and diagnostic tests for patients with disease-specific problems such as autoimmune and airway diseases, cancer, chronic inflammation, infections and organ / tissue transplantation
We are looking for someone whose research has a strong potential for clinical translation, particularly in addressing pressing healthcare challenges in Singapore. Neutrophil-driven inflammation plays a critical role in many diseases that are prevalent locally, including pneumonia - one of the leading causes of hospitalisation in the elderly - autoimmune disorders, and complications from chronic diseases such as diabetes.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates should have a PhD or MD/PhD with an established track record and long-standing interest in neutrophil biology. The research must be internationally competitive for their career stage. Candidates for Assistant Professor should have strong postdoctoral records and evidence of their potential for development of an independent, cutting-edge research programme. Candidates should have an interest in teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
