Key Responsibilities

The Nursing Aide supports Registered Nurses (RN) and Enrolled Nurses (EN) in the delivery of nursing care to residents and assists in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment within the nursing home.

. Comply with approved standards, policies, and procedures of nursing practice.

. Participate in quality improvement activities to enhance residents care and safety.

. Attend to residents needs, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being, and report any changes in condition to nurses promptly.

. Measure, monitor, and accurately record residents vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.

. Assist residents with personal hygiene and comfort needs, including bed baths, showering, grooming, changing of clothes and bed linen, and ensuring residents are kept clean and dry.

. Support the transfer, positioning, and mobility of non-ambulant or dependent residents.

. Assist in conducting daily exercises and mobility activities for residents as instructed.

. Assist nurses in ensuring residents take their prescribed medications safely.

. Assist with meal services, including serving food and drinks and feeding residents when required.

. Maintain timely and accurate documentation of care provided.

. Assist nurses with nursing care activities, including care of residents with urinary catheters and other basic clinical procedures as delegated.

. Support the admission process and orientation of new residents.

. Accompany residents to hospitals, polyclinics, and external appointments or outing activities when required.

. Recognize and promptly report emergency situations, and where necessary, take appropriate first responder actions within scope of training.

. Work collaboratively with nurses and other staff to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment.

. Carry out additional duties as assigned by Nurses, Senior / Nurse Clinician, Director of Nursing (DON), or Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Requirements:

. GCE N Level / Diploma in Nursing

. Attained training in either one of the courses:

- WSQ Higher Certificate / Advanced Certificate / in Healthcare Support (Nursing Care)

- Institute of Technical Education (ITE) Approved Training Centre (ATC) Healthcare (Home Care) programme.
