Build Nursing Capacity and Capability

. Engage and retain staff through career progression and recognize outstanding performers

. Increase unit specific capability and develop competent nursing staff

. Has overall responsibility for the orientation, induction, nursing competency assessment, staff learning needs and plans for self and nurses career progression

. Role model the desired team and leadership behaviour

Improve Clinical Quality and Staff and Patient Safety

. Enhance safety culture by reducing sharp injuries

. Facilitate reviews with staff on the hospital occurrence reports (HOR) and ensure plans are implemented to minimize future occurrences

. Improve infection control practices and reduce risks of health care associated infection

. Perform check on the integrity of the sterile instruments, instrument sets and packs from the storage to usage.

Deliver Excellent Service to Enhance Patient's and Doctor's Experience

. Build strong relationships with doctors

. Ensure customer satisfaction, resolve and follow through service/quality/medico-legal issues

Demonstrate Managerial Competencies

. Set unit goals and objectives in consultation with the clinical team and DON

. Nurture nurses progression through mentoring and role modelling

. Plan staff schedule as per organization guidelines to ensure there is efficient use of adequate skill mix

Requirements

• Min Degree in Nursing

• Min 2 to 3 years of experience as nurse manager / Assistant Nurse manager in hospital setting
