Job Description
We are partnering with a rapidly growing deep-tech company developing highly advanced hardware at the intersection of photonics, semiconductor manufacturing, precision assembly and automation.
As the organisation moves from technology development towards scalable production, we are looking for experienced NPI and Manufacturing Engineers to help build the manufacturing capabilities required to take complex products from development into repeatable, high-quality production. There are opportunities across Product Engineering, Process Engineering and Manufacturing Test Engineering, with scope and seniority depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
You will work closely with product development teams, manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams to industrialise next-generation hardware. Depending on your area of expertise, responsibilities may include:
Product / Manufacturing Engineering
- Lead product industrialisation and manufacturing readiness from development through production ramp
- Define manufacturing readiness criteria, launch gates and production requirements
- Drive DFM and resolve issues affecting schedule, quality, cost and yield
- Lead manufacturing readiness across suppliers and contract manufacturers
- Monitor yield, throughput and quality during production ramp
- Drive root-cause analysis, corrective actions and continuous improvement
- Coordinate engineering changes across global manufacturing sites
Process Engineering
- Develop, characterise, qualify and transfer new manufacturing processes
- Define critical process parameters, process windows and controls
- Apply DOE, SPC, Cp/Cpk, MSA and data analytics to establish process capability
- Lead process qualification and manufacturing readiness activities
- Validate tooling, fixtures, work instructions and operator readiness
- Investigate yield losses and process variation and implement sustainable improvements
- Support EVT/DVT/PVT builds and production ramp
Manufacturing Test Engineering
- Define manufacturing test strategy, coverage requirements and release criteria
- Develop scalable test fixtures, automated test equipment, production test software and diagnostics
- Deploy and qualify test systems across supplier and contract manufacturing environments
- Improve test coverage, cycle time, false-failure rates and cost of test
- Analyse test data, failure Pareto and yield trends to identify manufacturing issues
- Develop diagnostics and support fault isolation and root-cause investigations
- Support production ramp, troubleshooting and corrective actions
Requirements:
We are interested in engineers with strong NPI, manufacturing, process, product or test engineering backgrounds who have experience taking complex hardware products from development into production.
You should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline
- 6+ years of relevant engineering experience, with more senior opportunities available for candidates with extensive experience
- Experience in NPI, manufacturing, process, product or test engineering
- Experience supporting manufacturing ramp and production environments
- Strong technical problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Experience working with suppliers and/or contract manufacturers
- Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to influence and drive outcomes across teams without direct reporting authority
Experience in one or more of the following would be highly relevant:
- Semiconductor
- Photonics / optical systems
- Advanced packaging
- Electronics / complex hardware
- Precision manufacturing
- Medical devices
- High-tech manufacturing
For Process Engineering positions, experience with DOE, SPC, Cp/Cpk, MSA and process validation would be advantageous.
For Test Engineering positions, experience with automated manufacturing test systems, Python, LabVIEW or equivalent software development would be advantageous.
Why join
This is an opportunity to work on some of the world's most challenging engineering problems and play a direct role in building the manufacturing systems behind a next-generation deep-tech platform.
You'll have significant technical ownership, work across product development and manufacturing, and help establish scalable production capabilities rather than simply sustaining an existing manufacturing environment.
Interested
If you have experience in NPI, Product Engineering, Process Engineering or Manufacturing Test Engineering and are interested in working on highly complex hardware, please reach out or apply with your CV.
Multiple positions are available across different engineering disciplines and seniority levels.
Only successful candidates will be notified.
