NPI Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop technical specifications and operating windows, ensuring performance standards are met. Lead process design initiatives, maintaining standardized templates and engineering tools. Execute experiments, designing and operating bench-scale and pilot-scale systems for proof-of-concept and validation. Conduct technical risk assessments such as HAZOP to ensure safety and feasibility. Collaborate with engineering teams to produce accurate GA drawings, 2D layouts, and 3D models. Drive pilot system design and oversee commissioning and troubleshooting activities. Establish commissioning protocols, troubleshooting playbooks, and field readiness standards. Support on-site commissioning and pilot studies as necessary. Gather insights from the field to inform design improvements and innovations. Work with commercial teams to integrate feedback from ongoing projects into design strategies. Execute new product introduction (NPI) plans, defining scope and milestones. Assist proposal teams with technical documentation and cost analyses to prepare proposals effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Chemical, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent qualification). 3-5 years of experience in the water industry, preferably in EPC, OEM, or technology companies. Proficiency with design software, such as Aspen, WAVE, IMS Design, OLI, or similar tools. Demonstrated expertise in industrial wastewater treatment technologies. Practical experience with pilot systems, including commissioning and troubleshooting. Strong grounding in process design and mass balance analysis. Experience in preparing PFDs, P&IDs, equipment lists, instrument lists, and layouts. Excellent project management and organizational capabilities. Familiarity with scaling emerging technologies for market readiness.
