Job Scope:
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams during new product introduction phases
- Develop NPI project plans, define milestones, and monitor readiness for pilot builds and mass production.
- Spearhead and ensure design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-assembly considerations are incorporated in development cycles by Suppliers and Production
- Define and establish production processes, process instructions, and process parameters for new products
- Coordinate engineering builds, pilot runs, and process validation (IQC/IPQC/OQC)
- Spearhead troubleshooting during engineering and pilot builds, resolving technical and quality issues before production release
- Work closely with process engineers to validate new equipment, jigs and fixtures
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation such as BOM, PMP, PFMEA and SOP
- Prepare and manage ECN/MDN and ensure proper update/implementation in ERP system
- Coordinate with suppliers and product team to ensure component and material readiness
- Support product qualification, reliable testing and first article inspection (FAI)
- Ensure all new products meet quality, regulatory, and customer-specific requirements
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions for any pre-launch issues
- Drive continuous improvement in process yield, cycle time, and manufacturability for new and existing products
- Introduce automation or process enhancement to support efficient scale-up
- Analyse post-launch feedback and lessons learned to improve future NPI processes
Skills, Qualifications and Traits Required:
- Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering
- At least 5 years of working experience in NPI, manufacturing engineering, or process engineering with hands-on experience in BOM structure, product BOM release, ECN and MDR changes
- Possess knowledge of ISO9001
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing process for cable assembly and box build assembly
- Proficient in ERP system, AutoCAD or any other design tools
- Familiar with quality tool and methodology: DFM/DFA and 8D
- Resourceful and able to work independently while being a team player
- Excellent at problem solving, negotiating and communicating
