Role Summary: As a New Building Superintendent, you will oversee container vessels shipbuilding projects, ensuring compliance with specifications and regulations. You will supervise construction, manage site team performance, approve inspection plans, and conduct sea trials.

Role and Responsibilities:
- Owner's representative onsite for all the matters related to new building.
- Oversee and manage all project documents and execution, ensuring compliance with design, building specifications, classification rules, IMO conventions, and owner's requirements at the shipyard site.
- Supervise onsite construction and outfitting, and attend inspections and tests for structure, machinery, equipment, and systems.
- Resolve any conflicts between the shipyard and the site team as needed.
- Review and approve inspection item lists for hull structure, outfitting, and machinery per shipbuilding specifications.
- Review and approve type examination and test plans for new-building activities in line with shipbuilding specifications.
- Monitor shipbuilding progress and evaluate the performance of the site supervision team during construction and delivery phases.
- Represent the shipowner in quality and technical meetings
- Review and approve inspections checklists for Quality Control department.
- Approve final inspection checklists for the launch of under construction vessels.
- Provide guidance and approval on Shipbuilding Non-Destructive Test (NDT) plan according to respective class rules.
- Conduct Sea trial and oversee vessel delivery.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Head of New Building
Requirements:
- Degree in Marine Engineering or Class one MEO Certificate.
- Have sailing experience up to Chief Engineer with minimum 3 years of container vessels new build on-site supervision experience.
- Proficiency in shipbuilding standards and sequences, including database management for ship inspections during construction, block division, building sequence, and pre-outfitting procedures.
- Able to manage multiple projects across different sites or locations. Familiar with managing projects in China.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English language. Knowledge of Mandarin is required.
- Frequent travel is expected for this role (90%).
