Job Description

Position: Neuropsychologist

Department: Psychology

Job Description

You will provide neuropsychological services for both inpatients and/or outpatients within the psychiatric services as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals. You will assess and evaluate cognitive functioning in patients with various neurological and psychiatric conditions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct neuropsychological assessments and interpret test results for treatment planning
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated care for patients with brain injuries, neurodegenerative diseases, and psychiatric disorders affecting cognitive function
  • Provide individual and group psychotherapy
  • Contribute to mental health promotion programmes and psychological duties within the institute's framework
  • Provide training and consultations in neuropsychology
  • Participate in or conduct research in neuropsychology and related fields

Requirements

Competency

  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong knowledge of neuroanatomy, brain-behaviour relationships, and psychometric principles
  • Excellent analytical and interpretive skills

Educational And Professional Requirements

  • Master's degree in Neuropsychology or Clinical Neuropsychology from an established university
  • Preferably at least 2-3 years of relevant working experience in neuropsychological assessment and evaluation
  • Accreditation, registration or licence for practice with an established or recognised psychological professional body will be an advantage
