Network Security Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Security Implementation & Management

• Deploy, configure, and maintain F5 systems including LTM, WAF, and API modules.
• Implement and manage Azure Cloud security controls, including APIM gateways and Network Security Groups (NSGs).
• Maintain and administer firewall and intrusion prevention systems (e.g., Cisco FTD/FMC or equivalent).
• Monitor and troubleshoot network and security performance issues to ensure continuous protection and availability.

Security Policy & Configuration

• Implement and enforce granular security policies across F5, firewalls, and Azure environments.
• Conduct regular rule base reviews, policy cleanups, and performance optimizations.
• Ensure consistent policy integration and configuration alignment across application delivery and network security platforms.

Documentation & Collaboration

• Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Work closely with cloud, network, and application teams to align security policies with business and compliance requirements.
• Support security audits, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in network security or network engineering roles.
• Proven track record in deploying and maintaining F5, Azure security, and firewall solutions.

Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP platforms (LTM, WAF/ASM, API).
• Strong knowledge of Azure Cloud security, including NSG and APIM.
• Experience with firewall platforms (e.g., Cisco FTD/FMC, Palo Alto, or similar).
• Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S).
• Familiarity with security concepts such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and zero-trust principles.
• Basic knowledge of automation or cloud-native security tools is an advantage.

Preferred Certifications

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP Security)
• F5 Certified Administrator or F5 Certified Technology Specialist (CTS)
• Other relevant certifications such as CISSP or CompTIA Security+
