Network Security Engineer (Banking/Financial, 1-Year Contract)

A leading international banking group is seeking a Network Security Engineer to join their APAC IT Production Security team in Singapore. As a Network Security Engineer, your day-to-day responsibilities will revolve around protecting vital information systems through proactive monitoring, process design, technical troubleshooting, and hands-on implementation of advanced security measures. You will collaborate with both local colleagues in Singapore and global teams to evolve network security from an IT perspective. Your expertise will be crucial in managing firewalls, implementing zero-trust principles through micro-segmentation solutions, handling vulnerability management activities, and supporting production environments during critical incidents. You will also contribute to ongoing projects that enhance the organisation's cyber resilience while maintaining clear documentation for all processes.

What You'll Do

• Handle inquiries by providing expert firewall consultation and troubleshooting technical issues efficiently to maintain seamless operations.
• Implement advanced network segmentation concepts to achieve zero-trust network solutions and micro-segmentation strategies that strengthen overall security posture.
• Manage zero-day web-security vulnerabilities by leading security-operations activities aimed at minimising risk to business-critical applications.
• Monitor and control tasks to ensure IT Governance on Network Security processes are executed correctly, maintaining compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with external vendors for technical support and new-project solutions, ensuring timely resolution of complex issues and successful delivery of initiatives.
• Identify process improvement opportunities by automating or fine-tuning workflows using existing or new tools to drive operational efficiency.

What You Need

• More than 5 years experience in IT Security
• Experienced in managing enterprise-level network security infrastructures
• Prior experience of firewall rule coding and analysis on platforms such as FortiGate/FortiManager or Checkpoint R81.x Smart Console is highly valued.
• Experience with Illumio PCE Version 24.X or similar platforms for label-based policy implementation in micro-segmentation projects is preferred.
• Working knowledge of F5 ASM or Broadcom AVI Nextgen Load Balancing/WAF modules would be beneficial for broader coverage of security tools.
• Proficient in one or more programming/scripting skills: Python/Shell Scripting/PowerBI
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work closely with local and regional counterparts in APAC.
