Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for conducting research on LLM supply chain security. The aim is to develop automated analysis methods for build systems and dependencies, and security testing techniques for LLMs, focusing on both system-level and model-level risks. Successful candidate will be part of an active research team led by Prof XIE Xiaofei from School of Computing and Information Systems (SCIS), Singapore Management University (SMU).
- Design methods to detect and analyze build dependency errors and supply chain risks.
- Design methods for AI security and model robustness testing.
- Develop tools for component analysis, AI testing, and risk mitigation.
- Write research papers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum PhD degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or closely related disciplines from a reputable institution of higher learning; with particular focus on Computer Science.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant research experience in software testing and AI security.
- High-quality publications in top-tier software engineering/security/AI journals or conferences.
- Proficiency in programming software/languages such as python and Pytorch will be positively considered/ is required.
- Proven track record and professional experience in software testing, supply chain security and AI/LLM security testing.
- Demonstrated experience and know-how on program analysis, software testing, software supply chain security and LLM security.
- Excellent working knowledge of software testing, AI testing, security and program analysis.
- Technical skills in program analysis, software testing and AI testing tools.
- Ability to break down complex problems and design effective solutions.
- Innovating new approaches and thinking outside the box.
- Applicants with research publications in software supply chain security and LLM security area will be advantageous.
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a small, agile academic research team is essential.
- Self-motivated individual who can work independently and collaboratively with team members.

Candidates who do not possess the stipulated qualifications but have relevant work experience may still apply. Remuneration and appointment terms shall commensurate with qualifications and experience. SMU reserves the right to modify the appointment terms where necessary.
