About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Network Perimeter Engineer to design, operate, and secure enterprise and cloud network perimeter environments. You will manage firewalls, VPNs, reverse proxies, and network security infrastructure across AWS and hybrid environments.
Key Responsibilities
Network Security & Cloud Infrastructure
- Implement and manage firewalls and security appliances (e.g. Palo Alto, VPN, AWS WAF)
- Administer AWS networking services (VPC, subnets, routing, security groups, NACLs, Transit Gateway, load balancers)
- Design secure and resilient network architectures with cloud, security, and DevOps teams
- Monitor and troubleshoot network performance using CloudWatch, VPC Flow Logs, CloudTrail
Operations & Support
- Provide Level 2 / Level 3 support for incidents and service requests
- Monitor network health, performance, and availability
- Perform patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management (weekend maintenance required)
- Participate in 24/7 standby rotation
IT Service Management & Documentation
- Follow ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management)
- Maintain SLA compliance and timely ticket resolution
- Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and runbooks
Requirements
- Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 2+ years experience in network engineering (AWS or hybrid cloud preferred)
- Strong knowledge of firewall management, network segmentation, and traffic filtering
- Experience in network architecture, optimisation, and troubleshooting
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Certifications (AWS Networking / Solutions Architect / Palo Alto)
- Experience in regulated or government environments
- Knowledge of automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)
- Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture
